Latest Updates on Our LiveJournal Community

February 24, 2008

Because I'm continually forgetting to update this page, henceforth our LJ will be the "news page," since it's much better maintained. Enjoy!

August 31, 2007

I have updated the Links page. Removed some links, added some, and hopefully organized them better. The additions mainly reflect resources for copyright, self-publishing, and fandom.

My hard drive died in July, taking with it my email updates list for those people who wanted to receive StarMerrow newsletters without being on the Google mailing list. If that's you and you still wish to receive the newsletters, please email me at

March 27, 2007

In keeping with better design principles, I'm updating the site to have a more consistent look JOOM. More substantive changes will hopefully be coming soon.

I finally updated the Terms of Use to reflect free membership.

January 23, 2007

Owing to massive spamming, I've replaced the membership web form with simple email instructions.

The home page was significantly redesigned in December. But, lazy me, I didn't announce it here till now. It is now much less cluttered.

November 22, 2006

Makeover for the homepage. I removed the Find a Tale link anime car decals look at joom, not because it hasn't been successful, but because it's been SO successful, it's served its purpose. I'm now on to "phase 2" of planning a fiction search engine. More news to follow!

I also removed the grant info. The grant offer is still valid through Dec. 31, 2006, but no one has shown an interest, and I wanted to clean up the site. If you want info. on the grant, just .

September 26, 2006

The StarMerrow Catalog is up. Check out member's work!

August 31, 2006

New home page design. Art by yours truly (Arwen): not as professional as Trista's art, but I changed the look to fit the revised site design a bit better. Trista Musco's original merrow art with Kathryn Andersen's title design can still be seen on the about page.

We're picking up new members at a steady clip. Check out new profiles.

July 11, 2006

Fill out the Find a Tale survey to share your thoughts on making a good SF&F search engine.

StarMerrow members, fill out the List Your Works form to have your work included in a browsable catalog.

May 1, 2006

Membership is now FREE. (Members who have already paid will given FREE advertising till 2007 and have the grant application fee waived.)
New links, mainly for publishing market search engines.
New LiveJournal Community.
New member profiles.

March 27, 2006

I've changed the name of the Trading Post to StarMerrow Store to be more explicit.

Added a home page ad for Perdita.

February 28, 2006

The grant amount for 2007 has been increased by a whopping $50! Well, as Mr. Rumbold of Are You Being Served? once said, "A pound is not to be sneezed at."

I have added an archive page for old updates.

January 21, 2006

New links added, mainly publishing resources.

The Trading Post is set for online business. So far, there's an option to buy my novel Perdita online in the US, but I'm hoping we'll have more items for sale soon. Contact me if you'd like to sell through us.

New pages for The Continuation of Daughter, the science fiction universe I've created and which you are welcome to contribute to as a shared universe.

December 2, 2005

New title design by Kathryn Andersen.

November 22, 2005

New Merrow art. New About StarMerrow link. New contest: suggest a creative way to publicize StarMerrow.

The Trading Post is offering Trista's original merrow artwork! Suggest a price, snap it up.

October 28, 2005

New links, aimed more toward online community. Plus new link organization scheme, hopefully more user friendly.

New affiliate links for Powell's and Fictionwise Ebooks.

New art is coming very soon! It's just a question of getting Trista's lovely merrow painting onto my computer.

October 7, 2005

We have a new, better forum. More reliable host, and an easier-to-remember URL.

October 5, 2005

Yep, the forum is down. Supposedly, our host is switching to a new server. I am soon going to be switching to a new host, probably within the next week.

September 30, 2005

More free benefits and more, cheaper membership benefits.
